ISS 4th Crew: The Photo Album


STS-108 Astronauts with a new international ISS Crew arrived in Cape Canaveral two days before launch scheduled for November 30, 2001 at 00:41 UTC. The Crew of three will begin living aboard the International Space Station as 4th Crew.
The crew  includes International Space Station Commander Yuri I. Onufrienko (Russian Cosmonaut), Carl E. Walz and Daniel W. Bursch (U.S. Astronauts) as Flight Engineers.
Yuri I. Onufrienko

Colonel, Test Cosmonaut. Resides in Star City.

PERSONAL DATA: Born February 6, 1961 in Ryasnoe, Zolochev district, Kharkov region, Ukraine. Married to Valentina Mikhailovna Onufrienko (nee Ryabovol). Two sons and one daughter. His parents are deceased. He has two older brothers. He enjoys tennis, cooking, fishing, chess, and flying.

Carl E. Walz

NASA Astronaut (Colonel, USAF)

PERSONAL DATA: Born September 6, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio. Married to the former Pamela J. Glady of Lyndhurst, Ohio. They have two children. He enjoys piano and vocal music, sports, and is lead singer for MAX-Q, a rock-n-roll band.

Daniel W. Bursch

NASA Astronaut (Captain, USN)

PERSONAL DATA: Born July 25, 1957, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, but considers Vestal, New York, to be his hometown. Married to the former Roni J. Patterson of Modesto, California. Four children. He enjoys tennis, softball, windsurfing, skiing, and woodworking. His father, Dudley Bursch, resides in Stuart, Florida. His mother, Betsy Bursch, is deceased. Roni’s mother, Gayle Hutcheson, resides in Modesto California. Her father, Jack Patterson, resides in Truckee, California.

STS-108 will serve as a crew rotation flight. Shuttle Endeavour will deliver the Expedition Four Crew to the station and will return the Expedition Three Crew to Earth.
